A strong image for a flawless and transparent gin made out of 74 botanicals implemented in a total of 12 distillations that is Black Gin. The bottle is an eye-catcher but the gin itself is no less. The name black gin is referred to the proces of macerating where 68 botanicals soak and the liquid gets a black colour. Only six botanicals are disclosed the other remain a secret which distiller Holger Johann Georg Frey doesn’t want to reveal. Every year they distil 3 times and the first time it’s put on the market in April as the regular Black Gin, in August they release the distiller’s cut and the autumn edition is known as Edition 1905.
