In the historic City of Bruges the two cousins Bruno and Bas Timperman have their restaurant called Bruut. They decided to create a Gin and call it after their restaurant. In their spirit they gathered Gruut which is a typical blend of herbs that is historically connected to the City of Bruges and its rich past. Another remarkable ingredient in this floral and complex Bruut gin is honey wine giving a sweet note to this spicy gin.
The goal of the producers is always to have a soft taste and finish. No matter the alcohol level, the gin must be drinkable without ice or tonic, at room temperature. This is their own standard of a high quality spirit. It is a very aromatic gin with a lot of spices (rosemary, sage, black pepper) and a floral touch of the honey. On the tongue you will notice the power of all the herbs we used, with a very long finish.
Mix it with a neutral tonic and add some lemon thyme and a wedge of kumquat.
