Bodegas y Viñedos del Jaro elaborates this 2014 Sembro Tempranillo. Sembro is a red wine from Ribera del Duero and knows its origin in the tempranillo grape. It is the youngest and most approachable red wine from the Viñas del Jaro winery. A single varietal Tempranillo comes from a single estate located in Pesquera del Duero, which is in the heart of the Ribera del Duero DO.
After the harvest, the wine must ferments in stainless steel tanks for 10 days under a strict temperature control. Then, Sembro 2014 remains in contact with its lees for 7 days in order to enhance its creaminess and roundness. Finally, the wine is aged for 6 months in 300 liter French oak barrels.
Sembro Tempranillo 2014 – Tasting Notes
Firstly, this sembro tempranillo has a deep aroma, which fills the nose with a warm sensation. This wine feels very soft, almost silky to the tongue. A good amount of red fruits come your way, but the whole remains quite accessible.
