The Botanist Gin is the very first and only Islay dry gin, an exploration of the botanical heritage of the Scottish Island that is called Islay. This gin consists of 31 botanicals of which 22 are native to the Scottish island of Islay. All of these are locally hand-picked and small-batch distilled in the well-known Bruichladdich distillery by master distiller Jim McEwan.
The Botanist Islay Dry Gin Tasting Notes
This one has quite the strong aroma, a real bombardment to your olfactory senses. Lots of things are going on here: it’s actually a bit like a walk in the murky wetlands (and that’s a good thing). Lots of herbal notes and even minty flavours coming around the bend. The Botanist Gin is really smooth on the palate. A breath-taking experience, literally. Citrusy notes command the vanguard as they charge your taste buds head on, while juniper dominates the all-round flavour. The heat will fill your heart with warm feelings, yet the whole is very soft. The Botanist Gin finishes off with a long, warm feeling at the back of the tongue.
